About Kerry E. Wagner
Kerry E. Wagner a native Houstonian is affiliated with various entertainers in the Houston area. Devoting years to Houston’s underground rap scene; this member of Willie D's Relentless camp, and one of the original members of the rap group "The WOSS NESS" featuring Harvey luv and the late great houston legend "BIG STEVE/MAFIOSO(R.I.P.)who was fatally shot 27 times and killed; Kerry decided to take his 18 years of loyal street experience into the game and formally introduced himself to the world of Literature. Just as the title of their debut release back in 1995 "The GAME DONE CHANGED" ...as Kerry would say , "Ain't shit changed."
Kerry E. Wagner was compelled to change the game of urban literature, from one where authors are puppets of the publishing houses to one of legitimate artists in demand; transforming into established entities. No more claiming to be an author and not being rewarded or compensated properly for all the hard work. He was first inspired to publish his work after reading New York Times bestseller, “Coldest Winter Ever,” by Sister Souljah. Ironically Kerry does not read, and that has been his formula to success. He is influenced by no one other than himself. When you read Kerry E. Wagner, you are doing just that- Reading a story only as Kerry can deliver it. And NO ONE, and we do mean NO ONE has a delivery as soothing - GAU-RON-TEE!!!!
Kerry began writing his first novel after being incarcerated. Without the means to seek a publisher, Kerry E. Wagner lived and wrote the fictional masterpiece “She Did That” while living out of his car. Not that he had to, but because that was his way of being held accountable for his actions. Kerry's belief was that when you go to jail...your family goes to jail, when you fail...your family fails...when you are suffering so does those that care about you the most. When you can succeed from nothing...others succeed also. When you die...your dreams still live on. Kerry lives for the underdog--the ones who have no clue; they too are able to do whatever they put their minds to. He has lived and proven that by example. He went to the library everyday and took notes freehand because he was computer illiterate at the time. Initially, his manuscript was over 800 handwritten pages, a testament to his hard work, perseverance, and drive. Kerry created an audio version of the first three chapters of, “She Did That” to test market in area beauty salons and local college campuses alike. This strategy created a roaring demand, and he was able to build a monumental following on the underground literature circuit. He made frequent appearances on the message boards and forums of Michael Baisden, Russ Parr, Reggie Johnson and Steve Harvey, Kiss Radio, Coast2Coast, Fullfigas, Convo Café; becoming very popular in online communities, such as Facebook.

About Wagfest
The brain child of author Kerry E. Wagner, WagFest Litertainment, is a literary conference and bazaar that, although not exclusive, caters to independent authors, poets, musicians, comedians, and artist. It started in 2007 in New Jersey where a close knit group of authors got together in the spirit to sell books and have a good time. Since then, a second WagFest in March 2008 - this time in Seattle - proved to be a huge success with standing room only and a larger group of artists that traveled cross country to participate in this event. The saying at WagFest is "come as strangers but leave as family" and that has proven true time and time again.
Most artists know that building a successful career out of their art takes time, dedication, and support. Support is something that our familes are sometimes not willing to give readily. In linking up with WagFest, you have a community that will back you and as we grow so do YOU!
In March 2008, WagFest Seattle consisted of a bustling poetry party, book bazaar, Passion Party, and a night out on the town. Special guests, BET Comedian D Lamont Hall and CJ Johnson of Hiram Clarke Films were in attendance, and CJ taught a class at the conference on how to turn your book into a film. CJ has an impressive resume and has worked with some of the best in the film industry. He provided a plethora of valuable information on the movie industry along with offering his services to convert your book into a film or play. Our HOME city is Seattle, and so every year in March our main event will take place in Seattle. However, WagFest does extend invitations to other cities to HOST WagFest, so if your city is interested contact us here on myspace and we will see what we can do to accommodate you.
The event in Seattle for 2009 will be March 13-15th, so go ahead and start making plans to attend this lively event. Trust us when we say - YOU WILL NOT WALK AWAY THE SAME! READERS, FRIENDS, FANS, PEOPLE WHO LOVE A GOOD TIME: You do not have to be an author to participate in WagFest! The whole vibe of WagFest is having a good time. We believe in hard work and we believe in hard play, so if you want to experience a beautiful weekend in the beautiful Seattle, WA and relax, relate, release and then party with some really down to earth people. Join us! No registration fee is required if you do not plan to vend during WagFest. However, reserving your hotel room ASAP is recommended if you plan to attend.
